How can you prepare for a fabulous audition?

TheLovieDiaries actor life journal | top tips to smash your next audition

When we created the 'Actor Life' journals, we knew we wanted to create something that helped performers where they most needed it: auditions.
Auditions are stressful enough without adding all of the other pressures on top. Where do I need to go? What should I prepare? Who is my contact? What are my given circumstances? So, we made sure we created something that helped give you the best chance at success.
Here are the top tools you need to help smash your next audition!

STAY ON TOP OF YOUR AUDITION ADMIN

When you’re nervous about an audition, it's really easy to get little details wrong. So we’ve created audition admin pages for you to write down where your audition is, the easiest way to get there and what you need to bring so that you can focus on your performance instead of the admin side! (We also have handy tongue twisters next to every admin page to help you loosen up before you walk in).

USE STANISLAVSKI CHARACTER SHEETS

Properly prep for your audition by asking the right questions about your character and jotting down their given circumstances so that you can quickly flick to these and get into character before your audition.

USE SCRIPT ANALYSIS SHEETS

Understanding your characters through line and the plot of the story is key to embedding your performance in truth. The script analysis sheets allow you to plot out the key points in the play to understand where your character has just been before your scene and what their given circumstances are.

CHECK IN PRE AND POST-AUDITION

Every audition section has a check-in page for you to review how the casting went and any feedback you may have received to help improve for next time, that way you can continue to develop your craft throughout your journal.
